No no no, they have an NPC liscence. They can do whatever they want with one of those.
...and I swear that I'll find one of those someday.

In Droks last night merchanting salveaged goods() some idiot goes and posts that he got his account cleaned out(whatever that means) after registering and paying for Hax from 'GuildWarsGods'. His message was in the form of a 'warning' like he was doing the community a service, lol. It was immediatley followed by about 10-20 'Good', 'You got what you deserved', etc.. etc..
Funniest thing about 4 minutes later theres a WTB HOD sword(iirc, some uber item that costs lots of k), I almost fell out of my chair. Apparentley the ebay gold market is still alive and well.
People that get hacked, virussed, keylogged etc... get less than no sympathy from me.
Anet has gone to great lengths to keep GW free of this kind off bullshit, and IMO they have done a damn good job so far. Keep up the good work, and all of us report, report, report. I would like to play this game for another year or two without it being turned into the next DII(not gonna happen I hope).
I could care less that people can buy gold off ebay, I dont like it, but it does not affect my game. Hacks, cheats , and other manipulations of the game mechanics does affect my game, Anet knows this and has taken steps to prevent it from ever happening. Kudos to Anet for this, if you read thesse forums or the ones at GWO you will know I am not a 'FanBoi' of Anet, but I appreciate all they do on this front.

the OP may not be lying.. i have heard of a way to mirror items to other players. When you do it in the trade box.. u cant see the items u 'duped' and u dont get them but they see them as your offer. Thats just what a guild member said cos his brother supposedly can do it. If it is true dont be scared... it wont affect anyone. The full dupeing items is hard to believe.. but im a sucker for a good screen shot.

The idea of a graphical glitch that makes it look to another person like you duped something sounds pretty likely, considering the other kinds of graphical glitches that pop up here and there throughout the game.

I remember the Platinum dupe of EQ, man it went on for a long time too. Ruined the EQ economy too. And I also remember the dupe bug from EQ before the Bazaar. You could be trading items with another player and simultaniously logoff and one of you would have duped items in your inventory.
Know what gets all these people caught though? Bragging. People just can't keep their Jackie Gleason mouths shut and just gotta brag to a friend, who then uses it and brags to 10 friends, and they all use it and brag to the world and then they all get caught. laffin
Bragging: America's New Favorite Past Time. (smile)

well im pretty sure Anet is aware of this item duping problem (and "speed hacks" as almost all games have) and are doing everything that they can at the moment to put out a patch for it. Also we must realize guys that Anet is working much harder on fixing exploits (among other things) than most other teams (i wont name names ) that i have encountered on other games. If you have any complaints im sure you could drop a PM to gaile on the forums or message her when she logs on in games to give updates and take comments. Overall im pleased with how Arena Net has been taking care of things.

I am sure Anet has a team who just sits around and googles "Guild Wars Hacks" (or something like it...and maybe not a team...and maybe not all the time)

What good does that do?

Say you're selling a gold, max, req 8 fellblade that 15^50 with perfect mods for a crapload of money. someone says they will buy... you put the item in the trade window... and they duplicate the item and have one for themselves... for free.
that's the theory, i would think.
from what little i know about the subject, most "dupe" programs are really just account stealers and key loggers.

Not trying to sound parnoids or anything but would this fit some peoples who see the trade channel with WTS Max Req8 Crystalline sword perfect mods or some other rares. Than when you open a trade window and that person looked at it for few minutes than close the trade screen and said no thanks.. Is that consider a possible copy hax or just someone who window shopping. If its a copy hax, it would be harder for me or anyone out there opening a trade window if we don't know that the items would be duplicate by them.

I think what people are saying now.. is that the person who dupes the item doesnt get it or see the item in his invent, he can just show it in the trade back.
If this is true, then this is harmless... Till its confirmed / Rumoured anyway.

It's possible, I suppose. I was trying to sell a Superior Absorption rune I got from a chest drop the other day in LA. I put up my WTS and a guy immediately pinged me, "let me see it." Sure, ok. Then he finds me at the fountain, but he's a Ranger... Rangers can't use the rune anyway, but maybe he has a Worrier toon also. So I put the rune in the trade window, and 5 seconds later he cancels and runs off without saying a word. I thought it was odd, since there's already a Rune Trader in LA anyway, if he wanted to just see what the thing looked like. When I read this thread, it got me wondering, though...

Why would it be hard? You still have your original item no?

Program = Artmoney.
Used to pull off trade scams in many MMORPGS, particularly ones with abilities to open private shop such as RO, MUO etc.
What it does is alter the appearance of an item onscreen. People trading with you see the altered item. However, once it is interacted with, the server updates and the real item is revealed.
Example : Artmoney user changes... an Ascalon Bow - Storm bow.
Unlucky buyer purchases said bow. Buyer equips bow to find out that it's an ascalon bow.
This doesn't work too well in GuildWars as you have to open trade window with a person and then change it in Artmoney as you have it in the trade window. The person on the other end sees the real item if they are in any way receiving packets from the server I.E moving around, using merchant etc.
That's my theory at least, but hey, who cares

Some people are just weird about trading. There's no reason why he'd need to have a wArriOr char to buy one of those, because he could have wanted to buy one cheap and sell it higher, or maybe even get one for a friend (hey, it's possible). It's most likely that he decided not to buy it and decided not to talk to you cause he was in a hurry or shy or whatever. If people were really able to get a dupe of an item from you that you put up in trade, there's absolutely no way that there would be not a single case of someone having a jerk take a copy of their item, then gloat to the person and refuse to tell them how they did it. If such was possible, we'd have at least one post on this forum from someone who had this done to them. I really doubt that every single person that would learn how to use such an exploit would all be keen enough to keep it under wraps.
